Tenders, Contracts and Procurement
As we purchase a significant amount of goods, works and services each year we need to ensure that our procurement activities are carried out in a consistent and compliant manner and that we deliver benefits through effective procurement processes.
The council has an obligation to ensure that it obtains best value for money for ratepayers and that it is prudent in all financial operations by following the Principles of Government Procurement and Government Rules of Sourcing. More information is available in the council's Procurement Policy(PDF, 772KB)
Tenders
We use a competitive tendering process whenever possible. This means opportunities to provide goods and/or services to us will be advertised or we will contact suitable suppliers seeking quotes. The council uses the Government Electronic Tender Service (GETS) to advertise our opportunities.
