Castlecliff Coastal Reserve

Castlecliff Coastal Reserve is located at the western edge of the Whanganui urban area, bordering the Tasman Sea.

It extends 3.1 kilometres north from the mouth of the Whanganui River and is approximately 38 hectares in size.

The area consists of mostly dune land and wetland.

Whanganui District Council has worked with community group Progress Castlecliff on dune rejuvenation in the Castlecliff Coastal Reserve.
