Apply for rates remission

For the 2024/25 financial year (starting in July 2024) the council is continuing its rates remission (reduction) that was put in place for the 2023/24 year to assist households affected by a significant increase in rates as a result of the 2022 property revaluations.

A blessing ceremony for the new velodrome track was held on Monday 4 September

Te Hononga a Hapori Community Link(PDF, 3MB) this week includes the rehoming of the last white swan at Rotokawau Virginia Lake, the blessing ceremony earlier this week for the reinstatement of the Cooks Gardens Velodrome track, a call from Horizons for feedback on regional public transport options, information on an upcoming military exercise in Whanganui, and a reminder of the Community Kōrero session tomorrow, Thursday 7 September, on Māori wards and the council’s representation review – please also note that submissions for Māori wards feedback closes this Friday, 8 September.
