Locals and visitors alike will benefit from new services now available at Whanganui’s visitor centre.

The Whanganui i-SITE Visitor Information Centre has become a ticketing agent for Eventfinda, the guide to events around New Zealand. It has also partnered with Fastway Couriers to offer a parcel pick-up and drop-off service through Parcel Connect. Customers can purchase their labels online and drop in their parcels to the i-SITE.

Whanganui District Council’s Team Leader for Venues and Events, Rachel O’Connor, is encouraging locals to make the most of the new services and other i-SITE facilities.

“We are more than just a one-stop shop for visitors. We would love locals to think of us that way, too,” says Ms O’Connor.

“We are thrilled that we can now issue tickets for events throughout the country, while the parcel service is adding value to what we already offer.”

With summer on its way, Whanganui residents may also be gearing up for visitors over the holiday period. The Whanganui i-SITE can help with all travel and visit information and will give locals another excuse to pop into the Taupo Quay site and make holiday bookings, Ms O’Connor says.

“Whanganui is a magic place. We have our beautiful Whanganui River, contemporary and historical museums and art galleries, attractive heritage buildings and stunning parks and reserves and we know Whanganui people love to make the most of it all and share it with friends and family who come to visit.”

During the summer months (November 1-April 30), the i-SITE is open Monday-Friday 9.00am-5.00pm, and Saturday and Sunday 9.00am-5.00pm. During public holidays, the i-SITE is open from 9.00am to 3.00pm. It is closed only on Christmas Day.
