Whanganui Heritage Festival invites expressions of interest

The Whanganui Heritage Festival is calling for expressions of interest from individuals and groups who would like to participate in the upcoming Heritage Festival Parade. This vibrant procession is a cornerstone event of the festival, celebrating the rich cultural tapestry and historical significance of Whanganui and its surrounding regions.

The Heritage Festival Parade will be held on Saturday, 26 October.

Whanganui Deputy Mayor, Helen Craig, says the parade promises to be a fantastic display of community spirit, creativity and heritage. It offers a platform for local groups, organisations, schools, businesses, and individuals to showcase their passion for Whanganui's heritage and what Whanganui as a city represents today.

"We're thrilled to invite individuals and groups from all walks of life to join us in celebrating the rich heritage of Whanganui," says Deputy Mayor Helen Craig.

"The parade and festival as a whole provide a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together, share stories and create lasting memories."

Expressions of interest are open to all who wish to participate in the Heritage Festival Parade. To register your interest, please email whanganuiheritagefestival@whanganui.govt.nz by Monday, 1 July.

If you’re interested in organising an event to feature on this year’s wider Heritage Festival programme, please get in touch by emailing: whanganuiheritagefestival@whanganui.govt.nz. Registrations close on Monday, 17 June.

Deputy Mayor Helen Craig says, “Don't miss this chance to be a part of a celebration that honours Whanganui’s past and present and looks forward to our future. Join us in making the Heritage Festival Parade an unforgettable experience for all.”
