Eastown Road will close to all through-traffic from 7.00am on Tuesday, 2 July until 5.00pm on Friday, 5 July 2024 for the installation of a replacement wastewater pipeline across Eastown Road by Whanganui District Council contractors.
- Access to Lenihan Street and Eastown Road properties up to address number 40 will only be possible from either Holyoake Street or Anzac Parade
- Access to Benefield Street and Eastown Road properties from numbers 41 to 84 and property numbers 133 to 159 respectively, and including address numbers 164 and 178a on No 3 Line, will only be possible from either Wakefield Street or Kaimatira Road via SH4.
PLEASE NOTE – Wakefield Street Bridge is currently weight-restricted to 4500kg. All vehicles exceeding this weight limit are required to use SH4 and Kaimatira Road to access any of the areas east of the through-traffic closure on Eastown Road.
