Kauarapaoa Road (RP 10.168) between numbers 968 and 1001 will close to all through-traffic for up to four months from 7.00am on Monday, 1 July 2024 for the installation of a new bridge structure at Bridge 15 (Erni’s Bridge).
Whanganui District Council has contracted this work to Emmetts Civil Construction – the work includes the removal of the existing bridge structure.
The full work programme is scheduled to be completed by 5.00pm on Friday, 25 October 2024, but may finish before this date. An update will be provided if the work is expected to finish ahead of schedule.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
- During the work period, all properties up to and including 968 Kauarapaoa Road will have access available from Kauarapaoa Road via Papaiti and Aramoho
- All properties after and including 1001 Kauarapaoa Road will only be able to be accessed from Rangitatau East Road via Kai Iwi
- Due to the nature of the work and the removal and installation process, access through the worksite will not be possible at any time once work has begun.
