Parking restrictions outside Davis Library for up to five months

On display until 30 November 2024, 12:00 AM

The road immediately outside the Davis Library and along the side of the nearby Alexander Library Te Rerenga Mai o Te Kāuru in Pukenamu Queen’s Park will be closed from Monday, 3 June 2024 for up to five months to allow for landscaping work as part of the Sarjeant Gallery redevelopment project.

To maintain personal safety, if parking nearby on Cameron Terrace or surrounding streets and walking to the Davis Library, please remain vigilant for vehicles in this area at all times during the work period.

Likewise, if making a drop-off at the Davis Library or generally driving in this area, please be aware of increased pedestrian movements near the Davis Library and consider reducing vehicle speeds.

Both the Davis and Alexander libraries will be open during the work period. Due to the temporary road closure, parking for library users during the work period is now restricted – please note the following and see the map below:

  • The road between the Sarjeant Gallery and Alexander Library will be closed for the duration of the work
  • One-way traffic only on the loop road from Drews Avenue to Cameron Terrace
  • There will be no parking outside the Davis Library as this will be a closed construction site
  • One space for drop-offs only outside the Davis Library – the driver MUST NOT exit the vehicle
  • Two accessibility parking spaces along the Cameron Terrace side of the Davis Library – if using these spaces, please be aware you’ll be crossing a contractor entrance that will include truck movements at times
  • Pedestrian access to the main entrance of the Davis Library will be clearly marked.

Parking outside the Davis Library is restricted from Monday, 3 June 2024 for up to five months to allow for landscaping work as part of the Sarjeant Gallery redevelopment project
