Restricted fire season – Whanganui coast and urban area

The Manawatū-Whanganui Coastal Zone has moved to a restricted fire season until further notice.
A restricted fire season means anyone who wants to light an outdoor fire must apply for a fire permit authorised by Fire and Emergency.

Apply for rates remission

For the 2024/25 financial year (starting in July 2024) the council is continuing its rates remission (reduction) that was put in place for the 2023/24 year to assist households affected by a significant increase in rates as a result of the 2022 property revaluations.

Wā: Pearls and Entrails

New Zealand Glassworks - Te Whare Tūhua o Te Ao (NZG) proudlypresents Wā: Pearls and Entrails, a solo exhibition by 2024 Artist in Residence (AiR) GeorgeAgius. This compelling new body of work explores the aftermath of connection, the unseentensions between people, and the liminal spaces we navigate in relationships.

Opening on 17 April at New Zealand Glassworks - Te Whare Tūhua o Te Ao (NZG) in Whanganui, the show explores intimacy, connection, and the unseen spaces between us.

The exhibition runs from 14 April – 29 June 2025, with an opening event from 5.30 – 7.30pm on 17 April.
