Published on 08 October 2022
Progress results for the 2022 local authority election – Whanganui District have now been published on the Whanganui District Council website and the Vote Whanganui website.
This result is based upon the counting of approximately 90% of the returned votes. The progress result does not include some special votes and votes returned today that are still in transit to the processing centre. The outcome of these elections may change once all votes have been counted.
The voter return was 42.26%, being 14,206 votes, excluding votes in transit to the processing centre and special votes.
As the number of candidates did not exceed the number of vacancies, 7 Members for the Whanganui Rural Community Board were elected unopposed.
