To help protect the birdlife at Rotokawau Virginia Lake, a pest control programme will begin on Thursday, 1 August 2024.
The council is targeting rats as they prey on eggs and chicks. The bait (Pestoff) will be placed in approved bait stations at the Great North Road end of the lake up to Saturday, 31 August.
Signs will be in place at nearby lake entrances during this work.
And a friendly reminder, the reserve is a dog-free zone.
