City to North Mole Shared Pathway

Taupo Quay stretch of the City to North Mole shared pathway

This shared pathway runs from the Whanganui City Bridge to the North Mole in Castlecliff. It celebrates our river culture and heritage, creating a magnificent riverside trail that connects the town centre to the Tasman Sea and is an iconic endpoint for the Mountain to Sea Nga Ara Tūhono national cycle trail.

Upgrade work on this pathway is currently incomplete, because details of the port redevelopment are needed before the final route of the pathway is determined. The preference is to keep the pathway along the riverbank rather than taking it inland.
